A tool supporting code analysis, based on excellent teamwork.

Verifying code at various points in its lifecycle is important to its quality.

Crucible gives you a few options:

With Crucible, you can review code right in the moment designed for this purpose in your workflow. Randomly check the copy – paste reviews without taking your eyes off the command line, and accept changes with a single click based on issues and lists.

Discussion

All ambiguities should be explained as soon as possible. You can be sure that matters swept under the rug will come back to haunt you, sooner or later. Instead of waiting,  create discussion threads while checking the correctness of the code right next to the lines of code they concern. Information about added reviews, comments and replies reaches to the right people by email or RSS.

Integration

Jira – that’s enough to make sense. Take advantage of the combined capabilities of Jira and Crucible – create and browse issues (along with the source code) directly in Jira, or transform review requirements from Crucible and completed code comments into Jira issues. Simple and effective – as always.

You’re the one following the correctness of the code, and Crucible checks where you have already looked in the review (according to the right order).
If there have been any modifications, you’ll immediately notice that the places you have already visited and that have changed require re-verification of correctness.

Practical learning

There’s probably no better way to learn than by practice. If pure practice is too much for a new member of your team, invite them for a second review and ask them to note their observations – you will gain a full-fledged developer sooner than you think.

Statistics

Have you ever wondered to what extent the code of your product has been checked? With Crucible, you will always know that. That’s the fastest way to verify it in case something goes wrong.
