Subversion, Perforce, CVS, GIT and Mercurial repository brows
- everything in one place
You’ll be able to get a lot from this browser without ever risking to affect the code. Why? Because it’s a browser that gives you the ability to read but not write. But that doesn’t mean it’s the only thing you can do with it.
Searching in large collections requires an efficient search tool and this is what you get in Fisheye. File names, paths, names of commits, names of users saving them, or just code snippets – FisheEye can find them all. You can use the SQL search as well.
Changes in the code
You found an interesting piece of code once, but when you tried to find it once more, you got an empty result? If you know where to find it, you can simply review the history of changes, where you can easily compare the current version with the previous one, and analyze why specific changes were introduced.
If you do not know where the change happened, check out the activity channel to learn who has recently worked on the part you’re looking for. You’ll definitely find what you need.
Integration with Jira
Linking the code and its changes to the notification system is a key issue for developers and managers.
We all need order. Otherwise, we risk that software isn’t completed on time. That’s why Fisheye’s integration with Jira is an extremely valuable solution.
Branches, commits, diffs, merges, bug fixes, releases, milestones, and much more - that’s what software development looks like. And it’s not a simple path. That's why it requires visualization. It's just easier and faster to track your progress with FishEye where everything is clear and readable.
