To set your migration up for success, start by understanding your current setup. Before speaking with anyone, take the time to document your Atlassian environment. Having a clear scope helps you get accurate proposals and leads to a smoother project.

What to document before you even talk to a partner:

  • Users and data volume
    Count your active users separately from inactive ones. Check how many licenses are actually being used and how much data, including attachments, you need to move. For example, migrating 5,000 users with 1TB of data is a very different task than moving 20,000 users with 10TB.
