Jira Day 2020 – Remote Edition behind the scenes

There’s one week left to Jira Day 2020 – Remote Edition! We’ve been working hard to organize the best possible online event. As we can’t wait for you and the rest of the participants to see the great attractions we prepared for the event, in this article we’ll give you a sneak peek of it.

First Jira Day edition in such a form

To date, we’ve organized seven conferences related to Atlassian Software and advanced project management solutions. Each year Jira Day is growing and bringing together more and more people from around the world. The seventh edition gathered together more than 400 attendees at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland. We were about to come back there with the eighth edition this year, but we had to cancel the on-site event due to the current situation. Making this decision we knew that after months of work we’ve already done over this event, we couldn’t give up on it, but just needed to find another way to provide you with valuable knowledge. That’s how we brought the idea of Jira Day 2020 – Remote Edition to life. Our unique and free 4-days event will take place from the 26th-29th of May on the ClickMeeting platform. Seeing there over 2000 registered participants from every continent (except Antarctica), we’re so happy and motivated to work on creating an exceptional event experience. Curious of what’s going to happen during Jira Day 2020 – Remote Edition?

Teamwork, inclusive design, and clinical data management projects

As every year, the core part of our event is the presentations. Over 30 speakers from different countries are rehearsing their talks to share with you their knowledge and experience. We’re sure that the presentations’ content will interest not only the Atlassian Software users and enthusiasts but also those of you who are into design, customer success management, business analytics, project management, or remote teams’ communication and collaboration.

Inclusive design is an important subject, widely discussed over the course of the last years. Paweł Wodkowski, Senior UX Designer in Spartez Software, will explain to you the multi-layered topic of accessibility. He’ll provide you with some handy dos and don’ts of inclusive design, as well as share the story of his journey to becoming expert in that area.

Let’s jump into the pharmaceutical industry. Karolina Przybysz-Brunet, Precision Medicine Diagnostic Information Manager in AstraZeneca, will show you how to use Jira Board in clinical data management projects in a pharmaceutical company. Not only will she share her industry experience, but she’ll also point out the Agile methodology’s solutions which are worth implementing in an interdisciplinary and multi-location team.

Staying on the topic of teamwork, Simon Gatto, Comalatech’s Chief Operations Officer, will share with you the real-life examples of how teams can use Confluence to build great content and keep a clean, controlled, and uncluttered instance at the same time. In Simon’s talk you’ll find both information on reviewing and approving content in Confluence, and adjusting your documentation to meet compliance standards like ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or FDA 21 CFR 11.

Who else will share knowledge with you? The Atlassian Solution Partners and Vendors! You’ll virtually meet the experts from companies like Atlas Authority, Deiser, Communardo, Refined, and K15t. Check the event agenda to discover more.

Real-time communication with experts and other participants

Listening to online presentations is definitely valuable, but we all miss live meetings. There we can chat, exchange thoughts, ask questions, and, most importantly, feel that we’re a part of the event community. We’ve got an ambitious goal of recreating such an atmosphere during Jira Day 2020 – Remote Edition. In April, we joined forces with Grapean Austrian company, the creators of a great communication tool (of the same name). During our event, we’ll use Grape as a chatting platform where you’ll be able to:

  • ask questions to our speakers and experts,
  • chat with the peer participants on business and technical topics,
  • share your experience on using the Atlassian Software and get the insights from the others,
  • network and make friends.

You don’t have to worry about missing something since the whole communication will be held in thematic channels.

Stay active, be awarded

Besides presentations, chatting, and networking, live events include some fun activities. We’ll also take care of that! Every day of Jira Day 2020 – Remote Edition, we’ll be engaging you in different interesting and entertaining actions in Grape and on our social media channels. We’ll also add a spice of competitiveness. It means that you’ll be able to score points for your involvement and have a chance to get one of the very attractive prizes.
