Deviniti has signed a partnership with Grape

In April 2020, we’ve signed a partnership with Grape – an Austrian company that aims to embed communication into the tools that companies already use.

During the last years, the internal communications market has been on the rise. According to the Unified Communication Market Outlook by Allied Market Research, the global unified communication market size was valued at $32,879 million in 2016 and is projected to reach $74,244 million by 2023. This growth is driven by multiple factors such as the increasing amount of distributed and fully remote teams, a proliferation of smart devices and BYOD policies, or cloud solutions market growth. In this context further exacerbated by the global COVID-19 lockdown, more and more companies have found themselves in a situation where they strongly need to improve their processes and tools in order to enable teams to work efficiently and fulfill the business objectives set for 2020.

Unified communications facilitate businesses with real-time interoperability and easier access to the required information. That’s why organizations of all sizes implement internal messaging tools to complement their existing toolsets for managing teams and projects. However, depending on the configuration, they can come across a bunch of problems. The most popular tools available on the market can be too ecosystem-specific to integrate, serve mostly US customers, or rely only on cloud hosting. These are the pain points specifically for the companies adopting Atlassian tools, as well as for many European companies (especially those operating in the BFSI sector) due to lack of GDPR compliance or specific companies’ data hosting policies.

Now we have an opportunity to serve these groups of customers with an embedded communications tool. Grape is a secure video, voice, and chat solution that’s integrated with Atlassian and SharePoint tools our of the box, as well as provides an API to fit it into any given toolset. It can be hosted both in cloud and on-premise, which provides great flexibility and allows us to migrate in any direction with no data loss. With servers located in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, Grape is fully GDPR-ready and hasn’t exchanged a single line of data with any governmental organization since the product’s inception. The Austrian Foundation of Artificial Intelligence helped develop the patented Grape Natural Language Processing Engine, which allows users to quickly label conversations and turn them into task tickets. The app also allows saving costs with a free plan for instances under 1000 users.

Together with our new partner, we expand the tool’s capabilities and test its use in various contexts. During this year’s Jira Day Remote Edition conference, cloud-hosted Grape served as a real-time communication platform for all the participants (and there were more than 2700 of them!) Two months later, we helped localize it into Polish so as to make the tool’s use on the domestic market easier.
