Frequently asked questions about JetBrains

  • What happens to the tools we have if we stop renewing our subscription?

    After 12 consecutive months of an uninterrupted subscription, you retain a perpetual fallback license. This gives you the right to use the version of the tool that was available at the beginning of your last paid year indefinitely.

    This applies to IDEs, .NET tools, All Products Pack and dotUltimate. It does not apply to team tools such as TeamCity or YouTrack.

    New versions and vendor support end when the subscription ends. A break in payments or switching to a lower-tier product during those 12 months means you lose this entitlement. That’s why we make sure your renewals stay continuous.

  • What happens on the expiration date if the order is stuck in the decision-making process?

    The tools are not disconnected immediately when the subscription expires, but the grace period is short and the vendor does not specify its exact length in the documentation.

    IDEs start warning about the upcoming expiration two weeks in advance and show a warning every time they are launched during the final week.

    That’s why we manage renewal dates for you and get back to you with a quote before your internal purchasing process becomes a bottleneck.

  • We add seats halfway through the subscription period. Do we have to pay for the full year again?

    A new license cannot be purchased for just a few months. It must be purchased for at least one year.

    If you want the new license to expire at the same time as your other licenses, we also add the time needed to align the renewal dates.

  • We purchased the wrong product. Can we cancel it?

    It depends on the situation. If the license was activated recently, a refund may be possible, but it is not guaranteed.

  • Do you have security and compliance documentation that we can use for audits, certifications and privacy reviews?

    Yes. The Deviniti Trust Center provides downloadable security and compliance documentation for vendors, including:

    • ISO/IEC 27001 certificate
    • ISO/IEC 27017 certificate
    • SOC 2 Type 1 report
    • Privacy and Security Review
    • CAIQ Lite for Applications, based on the Cloud Security Alliance questionnaire
    • Cloud hosting locations and data storage options
    • Information Security Policy (AUP)

    For GDPR due diligence, Deviniti provides a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR.

    As a general rule, personal data is processed within the EU/EEA. Where international data transfers are necessary, Deviniti uses legally compliant transfer mechanisms, such as EU adequacy decisions and Standard Contractual Clauses, together with additional safeguards.

    For products that support this option, customers can also choose to have services delivered exclusively through infrastructure located within the EEA.

  • Why should I buy JetBrains licenses through Deviniti instead of directly from the vendor?
