What changes is Atlassian introducing?

In mid-October 2020, Atlassian announced that it would be withdrawing the Atlassian Server licenses. There are still Atlassian Data Center, and Atlassian Cloud licenses that you can migrate to.

Important dates:

02.2021:

– End of sale of the new main Atlassian licenses in the Server version (Jira, Confluence, Crowd, Bitbucket)

– Increase in renewal and upgrade prices for the existing Server licenses

– Increase in Data Center license prices

New functionalities in the Data Center license:

Advanced Roadmaps (formerly Portfolio for Jira) will be added to Jira Software Data Center
Team Calendars for Confluence and Analytics for Confluence will be added to the Confluence Data Center

Insight – Asset Management and Insight Discovery will be added to Jira Service Management Data Center

Priority Support will be available for Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Crowd Data Center, as well as Bitbucket Data Center 500+ users.

What’s the approximate Atlassian Jira migration cost?

There’s no standard pricing for this type of service. The actual cost depends on the migration strategy, project complexity, the size of the instance, the number of products and apps in use, having external integrations of custom development in place, etc.

Despite that, the Deviniti experts can assist you with optimizing both migration and license costs. We also offer dual licensing in case of larger migrations so that the two instances don’t add up.
Do I need to renew Atlassian license support, and how does it benefit me?

In terms of Atlassian Server license, support renewal is not mandatory.

However, it is worth remembering that without the current support for the Server license, you cannot access updates, free development keys for test environments, and provider support. Additionally, if you decide to renew after the deadline, you will have to pay for the outstanding period.

The Atlassian Data Center and Cloud licenses are subscriptions, so their renewal is necessary primarily to maintain the continuity of the application. In addition, as part of the Atlassian license renewal, we receive provider support and access to updates.
