Configuration
This section guides you through the configuration procedure and shows you how to add a rule to configure actions for selected fields.
There are two ways to use Dynamic Forms in a project:
- Create a custom configuration from scratch
- Use a preset configuration
The Dynamic Forms for Jira app supports Software development company-managed projects.
It doesn’t support team-managed, Service Management, and Work Management projects yet.
- To set a configuration, log in as a user with Jira Administrators project permission.
- Remember to add all configured fields and custom fields to relevant screens and issue types.
- Data is saved in Jira by pairing a project and an issue type. Screen schemes in a project are used for organizing purposes. Their configuration doesn’t affect other projects. You need to configure dynamic fields for other projects for the same screen scheme again manually.
Enabling issue types
Before you configure rules and actions you need to enable fields that will be available for Dynamic Forms configuration.
Steps
-
Navigate to Project settings.
-
Click Apps > Dynamic Forms. Screen schemes used in the project will be displayed.
-
Expand the target screen scheme. The list of all issue types available in project appears.
-
Drag and drop the target issue type to the Enabled configuration column.
TipYou can add additional issue types even after the configuration has been created. -
Click Edit actions in the upper right corner. The list of all fields that you can define rules for, related to the selected screen scheme, will be displayed.
Result
You can now add and configure rules for the enabled issue types.
