Visibility rules are used to manage field’s visibility. You can determine its visibility based on fulfilling set conditions. You can adjust how the form is displayed.
With this rule you can enable specific fields for the issue reporter, so filling the form will be easier and faster. You can hide fields that aren’t relevant to a specific case saving time for further task analysis.
Adding the conditions to the rules isn’t necessary.
If you don’t add the Show field action to a field it will be visible on the screen, unless it’s specified in Jira>Issues>Field Configuration settings.
This option doesn’t override Jira native required field settings.
If you set a field in native Jira as required and you hide this field using visibility rules, a user will be unable to complete the form because a required field will be hidden from them. Hidden fields can’t be accessed and rules set for these fields won’t work.
