Copy Dynamic Fields
This section explains how to copy Dynamic Fields with configurations
To make the process of creating Dynamic Forms fast and straightforward, Extension for Jira Service Management lets you copy the configuration of a non-dynamic field and transfer it to the section with the fields that are dynamic. You can also copy Dynamic Fields and their configurations (Conditions and Validators) to be transferred between different Dynamic Forms.
As any change in a request type is automatically saved and visible on the Customer Portal, we recommend to keep request forms Hidden from portal while modifying them.
Copy non-dynamic fields into Dynamic Fields
There are two ways to copy non-dynamic fields from the Fields Defined in Request Type section into Dynamic Fields within one request type.
Steps
- In Project Settings > Customer form extension > Dynamic Fields, go to the desired request type and click Copy fields with configuration.
- Select from this request type. A dialog box window appears.
- Select fields that you want to copy and click Copy.
- To avoid duplication, remove the non-dynamic field from the Fields Defined in Request Type section.
Result
The previously non-dynamic fields defined in the request type are now dynamic.
Steps
- Select a field from the Fields Defined in Request Type section.
- Click the copy icon next to the selected field.
- To avoid duplication, remove the non-dynamic one from the Fields Defined in Request Type section.
