There are two ways to use Create from template: directly on the native Jira work item create screen, or through the Create from template dialog available under Apps in the sidebar.
Issue Templates for Jira Cloud allows you to select and apply templates directly on the native Jira create screen. With this feature, users can intuitively use previously-created templates from repositories.
Make sure you have configured a template that is available for the space you want to use and you have admin permissions.
This method doesn’t apply to team-managed spaces. See the Team managed spaces chapter for detailed instructions.

If you disable UI modification or remove supported spaces, the field added to a create screen will stop working. It won’t be removed automatically. To remove this field from the create screen, you need to do this manually:

If you can’t see this field, follow these steps:
If you navigate to your template and click the Usage reports tab, you can see the status of your work item creation process.
Click the Apps dropdown in the Jira Cloud’s main navigation bar.
A dialog box opens. Select:
Click Next.
Fill the fields that are configured in your template.
Click Create. The app generates other work items (including subtasks and links) based on your template data.
You can monitor the progress in the Report dialog. Close the dialog to let the process run in the background.
When you apply a template, the order of actions is as follows:
To select which user groups can use Create from Template, see the Global configuration chapter.
You can check the Match work item type box to narrow down templates that only match the currently selected work item type.
