This page provides basic information about Issue Templates and simple examples of its usage.
Steps
To explore what you can do with Issue Templates:
- Go to the Jira settings > Apps > Get Started in the Issue Templates for Jira section.
You are now on the page, which shows you the features of Issue Templates. - You have a few options to do here:
a. Create basic template: To create simple sample template, click Create template. This template example will show you the most basic usage of Issue Template. It contains no extra features. The template consists of only two fields “summary” and “description” filled with short messages. Follow next steps to create issue from template.
b. Create template with Static variables: To create sample template which uses Static variables, click Create template. Static variables are placeholders in a template that are filled with values provided by the system. Follow next steps to create issue from template.
c. Create template with Dynamic variables: To create sample template which uses Dynamic variables, click Create template. Dynamic variables are placeholders in a template that are filled with values provided by an user right before issue create screen is displayed. Follow next steps to create issue from template.
