Issue Template for Jira offers two ways to monitor the usage of your templates.

Basic usage report

There is a simplified method that is limited to the last five usages of a specific template and offers basic information. You can find it once you open your template and click Usage reports.

Advanced template report

In the Advanced Edition of Issue Templates for Jira, you gain access to Template Reports, a way to track and analyze how your templates are used across spaces.

With Template Reports, you can see:

• Last usage date for each template.
• Work items created from a specific template, with full traceability.
• Usage trends over time, showing how many work items were created on which dates.

Flexible filters let you refine the report by date ranges, repositories, or template keys, giving you precise insights into template adoption and effectiveness.

This feature empowers administrators and space leads to monitor template performance, identify which templates bring the most value, and ensure consistent usage across teams. By turning templates into measurable assets, Template Reports help organizations improve efficiency and continuously optimize their processes.

To access template reports, make sure you have the advanced edition and simply select Template Reports from the sidebar.
