Mapping matching fields

Learn how to map your matching fields

Mapping

When creating a new mapping, you don’t have to manually add the same fields on both sides.

Map matching fields functionality allows you to automatically map fields that share the same name and type.

Example

You can use this functionality to easily map system fields such as Summary, Description and Priority, existing in all projects.

Info

Make sure, that the fields you wish to map automatically are present on issue screens in both synchronized projects.

Steps

When creating a new mapping:

  1. See Mapping to learn how to create a new mapping.
  2. During mapping creation, in the Fields section click Map matching fields.
    Issue Sync Pro
    Issue Sync Pro
  3. Choose the direction of your mapping. This direction will apply to all fields mapped in this step.
  4. Click Map fields.
    Issue Sync Pro
    Issue Sync Pro
Mapped fields of the same name and type will be visible in the list (as depicted on the screen below), with the selected direction. You are free to edit the mapping to fit your needs.
