Status transitions

Learn how to map workflow transitions.

Issue Sync Pro allows you to synchronize status changes of your Jira issues, between connected projects.

It means that a status change in one of the synchronized issues might trigger a corresponding transition in the other.

Note

This option is enabled by default.

Info

Keep in mind, that workflow transitions mapping in team-managed type projects is available only for users, who upgraded their Issue Sync Pro license to a paid license

Steps:

When creating a new mapping

  1. See Mapping to learn how to create a new mapping.
  2. During mapping creation, in the Status transitions section, select the transitions that will be corresponding to transition on the other project.
  3. Choose an arrow reflecting the direction in which the transitions are to interact with each other.
  4. Select transition that will be performed on synchronized project. Whether such an action happens in this step depends on the selected direction of the arrows.
  5. Optionally: Click +Add to include additional pair of transitions, or +Add all to include all possible transitions.
    Info

Add all button adds all transitions on both projects. Transitions between statuses with the same name are mapped first, and if there are no overlapping statuses on one and the other project, transitions are mapped randomly (first in order). If there are more transitions on the first project than in the other, these will be added with an empty mapping.

    Tip

You can change the order of configured status transitions (up, or down) by grabbing and dragging the status tile. This does not affect the synchronization direction or the pair of synchronized transitions.

  6. Click Create

Info

Users with their license upgraded to a paid version can click Show workflow diagrams to display workflow diagrams on the go, without having to open them on a separate page.

In case you see the Show diagrams hyperlink instead of Show workflow diagrams button, navigate to respective workflow, edit and save it, then reload the Issue Sync Pro configuration page.
