Data residency

Data residency allows you for managing the location of your product data to meet specific data management requirements of your company or industry. Thanks to this feature it’s possible to choose a particular geographic location for hosting your product data. You can also decide to distribute it globally.

Info

To learn more about this feature, navigate to official Atlassian documentation.

Choosing location for app data

The My Requests Extension app stores information depending on the country where the Jira instance is located. Data residency is selected at the moment of installation.

The app URL differs depending on the chosen location. Currently, the app supports two locations: USA, and EU, with the following app URLs:

  • myrequests.net (USA)
  • myrequests.eu (EU)

The current users of the app should consider that My Requests Extension doesn’t support automatic data migration. That’s why by moving your Jira instance to another location the app data won’t be automatically migrated to match the chosen location.

If you’re already using the app, by planning a change of your Jira instance location, perform the app uninstallation and next, install the app once again after the process is finished.

Info

For more information on apps uninstallation, see official Atlassian documentation.

Moving app data to another location

Data migration allows you to pin app data and migrate it between different locations.

Info

You can read about migrating apps data by navigating to official Atlassian documentation.

Currently, by using My Requests Extension it’s not possible to transfer the app data after the app installation. If you’re interested in using data migration, contact our support team.
