Learn how you can manage filters in the app.
The My Requests Extension app supports three types of filters:
Default filters appear at the very top of the left sidebar on Requests page. They’re easily accessible to all users. By default, this section includes All requests and My requests filters, but the Jira administrators also have the possibility to save custom filters as default ones and edit or delete them.
To find out more about using default filters on Requests page, watch the Quick Guide below.
Global filters appear in the Global filters section on Requests page. They’re configured by the Jira administrators who can save, edit, share or delete them. The Jira administrators can also grant permissions that allow selected users, groups or organizations for managing such filters.
To find out more about using global filters on Requests page, watch the Quick Guide below.
User filters appear in the My filters section on Requests page. They’re created by the Requests page users who can save, edit, share or delete them.
Originally, a filter is visible only to the user who creates it. However, users can share their filters so that others can see and use them but only the original creator and the Jira administrator can delete filters or modify filter settings. Once the filter is deleted, it also becomes invisible for every user the filter has been shared with. By default, all users can save and share their filters but the Jira administrator can grant or restrict permissions for specific users, groups or organizations.
To find out more about user filters displayed on Requests page, watch the Quick Guide below.
Before you start configuring, log in as a user with Jira Administrators global permissions. For more information, see Atlassian documentation.
To access the My Requests Extension configuration that allows for using the filter settings, navigate to Filters management.
The Filters tab in the Filters management settings allows you to set configuration related to all filters. You can quickly view and manage the global and user filters.
Below you can see an example of the Filters view with highlighted components. By comparing the components to descriptions you can easily check what’s possible by using this view.
In order to change permissions related to filters, access the Save and Share tab and set permissions for managing global filters, saving user-filters and sharing user-filters.
You can specify who is able to save filters as global and share them with others.
For the Jira administrators managing global filters is always possible.
By default, only the Jira administrators can use the Manage global filters option. To learn about setting permissions that affect managing filters for different users, watch the Quick Guide below.
You can decide whether saving filters should be available to all or selected users. You can also disable saving filters at all. To learn about setting permissions that affect saving filters, watch the Quick Guide below.
By default, every user who has permissions to save filters can also share them with other users. It’s possible to limit the sharing option so that it’s available only for selected users. You can also disable sharing filters at all.
To learn about setting permissions that affect sharing filters, watch the Quick Guide below.
