Managing group admins

This section provides information on how to configure a group admin(s) for multiple queue groups.

Warning

Before you start, log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission or make sure you have a permission to configure queues.

Manage group admins allows users with global permissions to define administrators for multiple queue groups simultaneously. Group administrators can then manage and edit settings for each queue within their group.

The Editing queue includes:

  • Changing the name and description of the queue
  • Changing queue visibility
  • Changing the queue’s JQL
  • Managing columns in the issue table
Note

Group administrators can also be added while creating or editing queue groups.

Steps

To set administrators for many queue groups:

  1. Click the Three dots menu at the top of the Queues for Jira & JSM panel.
  2. Select Manage group admins.

The Manage group admins dialog appears.

  1. Choose groups to manage their admins in the next step.

    Note

    If you want to choose all groups, click Select all. When you select at least one group, the button Deselect all appears, allowing you to deselect all groups at once.

  2. From the first dropdown, choose the operation.

  3. From the second dropdown, decide on a user or group of users on which the operation will be performed.

Example

In the example, the user is found and removed from being an administrator of four groups.

Steps:

  1. In the first dropdown, choose Find and remove these.

  2. In the second dropdown, choose the desired user.

  1. Check and confirm your changes.

Result

Selected queue groups and their admin(s) are updated according to your changes.
