Migrating from JSM projects

This section describes how to migrate native Jira Service Management queues into Deviniti Queues Cloud.

The Migrate from JSM projects feature lets you import queues from native JSM projects directly into your Deviniti Queues configuration. You can migrate queues from one or more Service Management projects at once and choose how they are organized after migration.

Note

Migrating queues from JSM projects adds them to your current Deviniti Queues configuration. Your existing queues are not affected.

Before you start

Warning

Before you start, log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.

Steps

To migrate queues from JSM projects:

  1. Open Deviniti Queues.
If you haven’t created any queues yet, the initial screen appears with a Migrate from JSM projects link. Click it to open the migration wizard.

    Note

You can also start the migration at any time by clicking + on the top panel and selecting Migrate from JSM projects.

  2. In the Migrate from JSM projects dialog, the wizard opens on step 1 — Select source projects. Select the JSM projects you want to migrate queues from. You can click Select all to include all available projects.

  3. Click Next to proceed to step 2 — Organize migrated queues. Choose how the migrated queues will be structured in Deviniti Queues:

    Option Description
Automatically (recommended) Queues are automatically organized based on the structure detected in your selected projects.
Group queues for the Service Management projects Queues are grouped by their source JSM project.
Create a single queue list All migrated queues are added to a single flat list.
  4. Click Next to move to step 3 — Review & migrate. Check the selected structure and the list of projects you are migrating from.

  5. Click Migrate queues to start the migration.

Result

Queues from the selected JSM projects are added to your Deviniti Queues configuration and are visible in the queue list. A confirmation banner appears to confirm the migration was successful.

Note

Queues can be edited at any time after migration, and changes will not affect the original JSM queues.
