The Notifications feature highlights new issues added to the queue in a selected color, reducing the risk of overlooking any of them. Administrators can configure the highlight color and choose to highlight all new issues or only selected ones. The feature has to be enabled and configured separately for each queue.
This chapter covers the following sections to help you configure Notifications:
Below is a live demo of the mentioned feature. Additionally, you can review each step in more detail by following the guide below.
To better understand how the Notifications feature can be used, read the Improving issues triage in support teams use case and see its practical application.
To configure Notifications in a specific queue, follow the below steps:
If you’re unsure about your JQL customization, click the JQL suggestions in the i infobox.
Notifications for a specific queue are enabled and configured. To confirm all the changes, click the Save button at the bottom.
New Notifications’ highlights refresh every five minutes.
The user will see Notifications in three ways:
This section only applies to admins with access to all the queues with the Notifications feature enabled. If you’re a group administrator who doesn’t have access to all the queues with this feature enabled, you need to contact your organization’s admin.
You can enable Notifications for up to 10 queues. There might be a case when you want to turn the Notifications on for a queue you’re currently working on, and the below warning appears, making the Notifications section unavailable.
The warning means that to enable Notifications for this queue, you first need to turn the feature off in another one so this one can stay within a limit.
To do that, follow the below steps:
The Queues with Notifications enabled modal appears, showing the list of queues you have access to with the Notifications feature enabled.
The limit no longer applies as Notifications in the selected queues were turned off. As a result, the feature is enabled in the queue you’re currently working on.
Notifications are turned off for that queue.
