Create a Test Case
Test Cases can be created as regular Jira issues in Create Issue dialog box. You can also add Test Case by clicking on + in particular folder in Test Case tree.
If you haven’t created any new folder yet, use All.
To create a new Test Case:
- Navigate to Test Management > Test Cases.
- Click +.
In Details section, complete necessary fields.
In Steps section, create steps:
a. Type the action, input and expected result.
b. To add another step, click Add next step.
TipUse Add step above and Add step below to order steps. You can also use Add group to classify them.Tip
Click ••• in step’s row for more options - Add step above, Add step below or Add group above. You can also upload an Attachment, Copy step or Remove it.NoteYou can also Import Test Case’s steps by clicking on Import and selecting .csv file. Check how to form the .csv file with Steps sample file.
In Requirements section, select Requirement that matches the Test Case.
Test Case has been created.
In Relations section, you can link Test Case with Requirement or target Jira issue.
As you may noticed, you can link Test Case with Requirement also in Relations section. The difference is that Relations includes more linking types, for example is blocked by, blocks and so on.
