Repository of Steps

This page provides information how to prepare a test repository.

Creating Sets of Steps

it is possible to define Sets of Steps, that are often used, writing Test Cases. Once created, they can be added repeatedly.

Steps

To create a Set of Steps:

  1. Go to the project view and select Add-ons > Test Steps Repository.

  2. Click Create to add a new step set to the repository.
    Create Set dialog appears.
  3. Fill the form and click Create.

  4. Choose the Step Set and click Add First Step.

  5. Fill the steps and click Save.

    It is possible to add/modify/delete steps on any single issue.

Result

The Set of Steps has been added to the repository.

Managing Test Steps Repository

  • Click pencil icon next to the Set of Steps name to edit the set name and description.
  • Click trash icon to delete set.
  • As the repository gets bigger, it might get difficult to find the right template. Use the Search box to search the repository.

Importing Step Sets from XLS/XLSX file

Steps

To import Step Sets:

  1. Go to the project view and select Add-ons > Test Steps Repository.

  2. Click Import to import step sets to your repository.
  3. Click Browse and choose the xls/xlsx file that contains the Steps to be imported. The structure of the file is decribed below.

    XLS/XLSX file column headers:

    • setIndex: ID of the Step Set.
    • setName: Step name.
    • setDescription: Step description.
    • stepId: The ordinal number of the Step row in the set.
    • Action: The column header should be the same as in the configuration.
    • Input: The column header should be the same as in the configuration. If the field is not used in the project, leave the column empty and use the default header name.
    • Expected result: The column header should be the same as in the configuration. If the field is not used in the project, leave the column empty and use the default header name.

  4. Click Import and the import will start.

Result

Imported Steps Sets will appear on the Sets of Steps list.
