Permissions
Learn how you can restrict access to Pages and their Items
Permissions refer to the visibility of your Pages and page-related Items: Projects (Customer Portals), Portal Groups (Request type groups) and individual Request types. By setting permissions you can determine the user access restrictions.
There are several options for restricting access:
- All users with access makes your Page or page-related Items visible to every user who has access to the Help Center.
- No access means that your Page or page-related Items will be hidden to all users.
- Selected users enables you to define particular Users, User Scopes, Groups or Organizations who can display your Page and page-related Items.
The Permissions feature enables you to configure a particular Page or page-related Item for which you want to set access restrictions.
All Items to which you can restrict access, inherit permissions from their parent Items. That’s why for a user to access a particular Project it is necessary to have permissions for the Page to which this Project is assigned.
Setting Page permissions
Before you start, log in as a user with Jira Administrators global permissions. For more information, see Atlassian documentation.
Steps
- Go to the Permissions configuration section.
Keep in mind that setting permissions is possible only if you’ve already created a Page. If you haven’t configured any Page yet, start with adding your Page.
- Click the cog icon next to the Page name.
- In the Page permissions section you can determine access restrictions. Select one of the available options:
- All users with access
- No access - it should be hidden
- Selected users
By choosing the Selected users option, it is necessary to introduce particular Users, User Scopes, Groups or Organizations who will have access to your Page. You can start typing in their names and the hints appear as you type.
- To store your configuration of permissions, click Save.
Result
The configuration of permissions is established and access to your Page is restricted.
