Learn how to configure the Linked Items app.
The aim of Linked Items is to organize tasks in large projects. That’s why you’ll need at least two already prepared boards with some items on them to fully explore the app’s best features.
Add the Linked Items view
To start using it, add the Linked Items item view to your chosen board.
Steps
To add the Linked Items view to a board:
- Go to the Views menu on the top of the board.
- Click Add View and select More Views.
- Search for the Linked Items item view and confirm the operation.
Map the Connect board columns
The mapping process can only be done by the Administrator of the monday.com platform.
Mapping involves migrating existing links from the Connect boards columns to the new link types. This action will need to be performed after installing/upgrading the Linked Items app. Thanks to that, you will gain access to a better and easier way to create links between items.
Steps
- Open your board of choice.
- Click on any item on the board.
- In the item view, select the Link Items tab.
- For each column name, select a new link type from a drop-down list.
You can choose default link types or add your own. This is possible thanks to the + add new option at the end of the drop-down list.
Result
New mapped connections are displayed in the table view.
