This section provides information on how to configure a default template.
Default template feature allows user to select a template, which will be automatically applied on Create Issue screen. All pre-defined values from the target template can be visible on your project’s Create issue screen (or after selecting an issue type).
To configure Default template:
- Go to the project where you want use templates.
- From project sidebar, select Project settings > Default Templates in the Issue Templates for Jira section.
- Select template from the drop down list which will be set as a default.
- Choose Issue Type.
You can Select all issue types to use one default template. After clicking on Select all, available issue types display in tab.
It is possible to apply default template to all issue types (click on Apply to all).
Click on bin icon to delete default template configuration.
If you disable template in Availability tab, a warning icon appears next to the template name.
Selected templates are set as defaults for defined issue types.

To see the list of projects where issue template is used as a default template, open Default Template tab in Issue Templates Details.
