The Visibility tab enables administrators to decide who can access the app’s Requests page. What’s more, you can benefit from the View as option which allows for checking the visibility of Requests page by using the permission set of a selected user. In addition, it’s possible to manage the display of the total number of requests on the Requests page.

Accessing configuration

Steps

  1. From the top navigation bar, choose Jira Administration > Manage apps.
  2. Navigate to My Requests Extension section.
  3. On the left sidebar, click General Configuration and go to the Visibility tab.

Result

You’ve accessed the app settings related to Visibility.

Managing access to Requests page

By default, all users can access the Requests page provided by the app. It’s possible to limit the visibility of requests in two ways. As an administrator, you can either grant access to requests only to selected users or choose which users shouldn’t see Requests page.

Using View as different user

As an administrator, by setting the configuration of View requests as different user you can display and navigate Requests page using the permission set of a selected Jira user. It’s particularly useful when you need to check if you’ve restricted access correctly and users have their proper permissions sets.

Steps

  1. In the View requests as different users section, click View as different user button.
