Create project
On this page, you will learn how to create a project with the TestFLO configuration enabled or use an existing project and enable TestFLO yourself.
Create project from Getting Started page
On the Getting Started page you can find three ways to explore TestFLO in a project. Each option turns on the default TestFLO configuration, which means that the modules responsible for creating tests and their execution will turn on.

To view the Getting Started page, you must have Jira System Administrators or Jira Administrators Permissions.
Steps
To get to the Getting Started page:
- Go to the Jira Administration > Manage apps.
- Click the Getting Started page in TestFLO section on the left side.
or
- Click TestFLO in the Jira top navigation bar.
- Select the Get Started page.

Create Sample Project
The Create Sample Project option creates a project with the the default configuration and sample data. In an easy way you will automatically create a set of examples of: requirements, Test Case Templates, Test Plans, Test Cases, and defects.
The created project is a Business Project Type.
Steps
To use the Create Sample Project option:
- Click Create below Create Sample Project.
- Fill the project name and project key.
- Click Create.
- Wait for the project to create with all the data. This may take a while.
Result
You have created a project with sample data. Now you can play around with existing data or create your own requirements, cover them with tests, plan and then execute. You can also add more configurations, such as setting workflows, custom fields, permissions and many more.
Create New Project
The Create New Project option creates a new project with default configuration. After create you will be able to use the TestFLO issue types: Test Case Template, Test Case, Test Plan and other features.
The created project is a Business Project Type.
Steps
To use the Create New Project option:
- Click Create below Create New Project.
- Fill the project name and project key.
- Click Create.
- Wait for the project to create. This may take a while.
Result
You have created a new project with default TestFLO configuration. You can create tests, plan and then execute. You can also add more configurations, such as choosing the type of issue that will be your requirement or defect, setting workflows, custom fields, permissions and many more.
Start with existing project
Start with existing project option gives you the opportunity to enable the default TestFLO configuration in already existing project. After enabling you will be able to use the TestFLO issue types: Test Case Template, Test Case, Test Plan and other features.
Steps
To use the Start with existing project option:
- Select project in which you want to turn TestFLO app on.
Note
Only those projects in which TestFLO app hasn’t been turned on are available in the list.
- Click Start below Start with existing project option.
- Wait until the configuration is enabled in the selected project.
Result
You have enabled the default TestFLO configuration in selected project. You can create tests, plan and then execute. You can also add more configurations, such as choosing the type of issue that will be your requirement or defect, setting workflows, custom fields, permissions and many more.

Creating a TestFLO project gives you the opportunity to create a new project with default configuration. After create you will be able to use the TestFLO issue types: Test Case Template, Test Case, Test Plan and other features.
The created project is a Business Project Type.
Steps
To create TestFLO Project:
- Click Projects in the Jira top navigation bar and select Create project.
- Select TestFLO Project.
- Click Next.
- Fill the Name and Key of project and set the Project Lead.
- Click Submit.
Result
You have created a new project with default TestFLO configuration. You can create tests, plan and then execute. You can also add more configurations, such as choosing the type of issue that will be your requirement or defect, setting workflows, custom fields, permissions and many more.

When you create a project, you can enable the TestFLO configuration yourself. You can use two approaches, enable configuration automatically or decide which modules (test repository, test execution, requirements, defects) should be included in your project.
