Global configuration

This section provides information on setting a global configuration of Help Center. Theme Extension for Jira Service Management lets you present your service projects as custom Cards or Lists.

Theme Extension for Jira Service Management provides excessive Help Center display customization options. You can display your Help Center in a List or Cards theme. With Cards, you can also distinctly show most popular or recently used request types or service projects.

With Cards and List, you can customize the following aspects of your Help Center:

  • theme style
  • background
  • welcome text
  • announcement banner
  • search bar
  • logo
  • navigation bar

With Cards, you can also customize:

  • card style
  • custom cards
Warning
Before you start, log in as a user with the Jira Administrators global permission.

Steps

To set the global Help Center configuration:

  1. Go to Jira Administration > Add-ons.
  2. Select Configuration under Theme Extension.
  3. Go to Select theme.
  4. Select a theme.
    Note
    • You can choose from List, Cards, or the Default theme.
    • Click Preview to see the layout a theme introduces.
  5. Click Next.

  6. The Apply theme style dialog box appears.
  7. Select a theme style and click Apply.

Result

The selected theme style is applied to your Help Center.

This option has been moved to the Categorization section in version 1.6.0.

Steps

To display popular service projects and recently created request types in the navigation bar:

  1. Click the navigation bar below the search bar.

    The Edit navigation bar dialog box appears.
  2. Go to Content and check:
    • Popular service projects to display most frequently used service projects.
    • Recent Request Types to display recently created request types.
      Note
      • Popular and Recent checkboxes are selected by default.
      • You don’t need to configure these tabs, for example, the order of displaying request types, because their content changes in Jira dynamically.
  3. Click Apply.

Result

The Recent tab is added to the navigation bar.
