Edit a List Theme

Theme Extension for Jira Service Desk lets you customize List themes in various ways.

With Theme Extension for Jira Service Desk, you can customize the display numerous aspects of your Help Center by modifying its theme.

You can adjust color attributes of your chosen List theme in the Edit theme style dialog box. For more information, see Introduction to List.

You can also adjust display of Help Center UI elements in the theme editor.

Edit Theme Elements

To edit theme elements, open the theme editor. Follow Steps 1 to 7 in Introduction to List.

Add an Announcement banner

Steps

To add an announcement banner:

  1. Click Announcement banner under Elements. The Announcement banner dialog box opens.

  2. Type your announcement. You can apply formatting, use ordered or unordered lists, and add links.

  3. Add an image to your announcement.
  4. Change text or background color.

  5. Preview your announcement banner and click Save.
    Note
    To delete an announcement banner, click Delete.

  6. Edit other elements or Save and publish changes.

Result

The customized announcement banner is now visible in the theme editor. Once you are done editing the theme, Save and publish changes.

To toggle visibility of the search bar, click Hide Search. Once you are done editing the theme, Save and publish changes.

Steps

To customize the home link:

  1. Click the home link.

    The Edit Home link options and style dialog box appears, where you can:
    • change the home link text, up to 20 characters in total.
    • upload a file as your Help Center logo.
    • direct the link either to Help Center or the Customer Portal homepage.

  2. Click Save.

Result

Changes are applied to the home link in the theme editor. Once you are done editing the theme, Save and publish changes.

Customize the text above the left section

Steps

To customize the text above the left section:

  1. Click the current text.

  2. Type your text, up to 40 characters, in the box and click the OK icon.

Result

The custom text is now visible in the theme editor. Once you are done editing the theme, Save and publish changes.

  1. Click the current text.

  2. Type your text, up to 40 characters, in the box and click the OK icon.

Result

The custom text is now visible in the theme editor. Once you are done editing the theme, Save and publish changes.

Change Theme Style

To change theme style, click either Change Theme or Change under Theme Style to go to the Select theme style dialog box. Keep in mind that unsaved changes to the current theme will be lost.

For more information on the Select theme style dialog box, see Introduction to List. Once you are done editing the theme, Save and publish changes.

Save and publish changes

Steps

To save and publish changes:

  1. To save a customized theme, click Save as.

    The theme will be saved under the provided name, which can consist of up to 24 characters.

  2. To apply the customized theme to your Help Center, click Publish.

Result

Changes are saved as a customized theme and published to your Help Center.
