Transition Description

Add more information to your workflow visualisation

To further improve the understanding of your workflow you can add transition descriptions to the Conditions Validator graph.

Steps

To add a transition description in the Conditions Validator tab:

  1. Go to Jira Administration > Manage apps.
  2. Select Transition Explanations from the Conditions Validator app navigation.
  3. Check the box next to ON/OFF to enable displaying descriptions.
  4. Click Save.

  5. Navigate to the workflow settings of the project where your description should be added.
  6. Open the diagram view in the editing mode.
  7. Select a status and go to Properties.

  8. Under Property Key, paste the following key: conditions.validator-description
  9. Under Property Value enter the description that you want to display.
  10. Click Add.

  11. Back on the workflow diagram view, click Publish.

Result

The transition description is added to the Conditions Validator tab on the issue view.
