This chapter provides information about copying links and linked work items.
With Issue Templates for Jira app, you can copy work item links and even create new work items from linked templates. It’s also possible to copy Web links.
Users need to have access to spaces that linked work items refer to. Otherwise, linked items cannot be copied.
To copy links you have to add Linked work items field to Template’s fields. It won’t affect linking stories. Stories are always linked to epic in ITC.
By default, the order of work items in structures is not maintained. You can enable this option in Global configuration - Advanced.
As soon as the app detects a link pointing to a work item that is also a template:
If a link doesn’t point to a template, the app will copy the link as it is.
If the link points to a template, it won’t be displayed in the Create work item dialog. All work items from linked templates will be generated right after creating a work item. As you can select only one type of link in Create work item dialog, we decided not to show linked templates at all.
