Presenting synchronized data in Jira issue

Synchronized data can be presented in Jira issue. For example, it helps assignee to contact reporter of this issue by providing more details about a user, such as mobile phone or department. The appropriate custom field must be created in Jira.

Adding new custom field

Steps

To add a new custom field for presenting synchronized data from Active Directory:

  1. Go to Jira Administration > Issues.
  2. Select Custom fields from the menu in the Fields section.
  3. Click Add custom field.
  4. Select [Deviniti] User’s attribute from Active Directory (AD) in the advanced section.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter Name for this custom field. For example: User’s attributes.
  7. Click Create.
  8. Select the checkboxes of the screens on which this custom field will be displayed.
  9. Click Update.

Result

New custom field of [Deviniti] User’s attribute from Active Directory (AD) type is added.

Presenting synchronized data

Steps

To present data in custom field in Jira issue:

  1. Go to Jira Administration > Issues.
  2. Select Custom fields from the menu in the Fields section.
  3. Go to [Deviniti] User’s attribute from Active Directory (AD) custom field.
  4. Select Configure.
    Configure Custom Field: User’s attributes screen is displayed.
  5. Select Edit options.
  6. Configure the following:
    • Display Active Directory attributes for: Select user whom attributes will be displayed in the Jira issue. It can be reporter, assignee, current user, or any user indicated by reference to the Active Directory.
    • Fields to display: Select fields to display in Jira issue.
    • Hide attributes labels: Select to hide labels in Jira issue, such as manager, mobile phone, or department.
    • Show in Customer Portal: Select to present synchronized data from Active Directory on Customer Portal.
    • Pretty print CF value: Select to change the data format, so that the information is easier to read. You may need it while using the data in reports, e-mails, CSV files, Script Runner, or other integrations.
  7. Click Save.

Result

Synchronized data is displayed in a Jira issue.
